Mandy Moore Discusses Gay Marriage, ‘Amanda Leigh’

Jordan of andPOP.com caught up with , who talked about her latest album ‘Amanda Leigh’, life in Hollywood, and gay marriage.

Asked whether the California supreme court made the right decision to uphold the state’s gay marriage ban, the recently married singer/actress responded, “No, absolutely not. I don’t think they made the right decision at all. I think that marriages that happened before the election are going to be upheld, and acknowledged and recognized, but in terms of them not overturning the appeal I guess is disheartening. I have to say I’m still surprised and shocked and really disheartened by the whole thing. But at least the bit of encouraging news is that there are other states in the country now that are recognizing and allowing same sex marriage. California hopefully will follow suit then during the next election.”
