Mariah Carey Is Delivering Another Hit

It was the bridging moment, where the lyrics to Through the Rain - “stand tall and say” are belted out over an eleven second period - in one breath - that made me realize that Mariah, the highest selling female recording artist of all time, is back. Through The Rain marks the return of Mariah, with a new album, new record label, and to some extent - a new look. It seems Ms Carey has matured over the past year and is ready to battle the critics to prove that pure singing and song writing talent does create lasting careers, rather than mini pop phases (take note; Britney and J.Lo).
The CD single, to a certain level, is even better. Carey undeniably knows what she’s doing with this 4-track treat. Featuring music that ranges from pop to R&B to dance, two bonus postcards prove classy in preparing us for the Charmbracelet phenomena beginning on December 2… And it’s all priced at less than $5. One aspect of the single market that I hate is that the consumers tend to purchase one song, along with irrelevant 10 minute remixes that they never end up listening too. Mariah has undoubtedly pleased me with a gospel remix featuring the likes of none other than R&B superstars Kelly Price and Joe, while she gets us on the dance floors with club remixes that doesn”t push the boundaries of an over-extended instrumental.
The single released already mostly everywhere except the US is selling great and topping charts all over the world. Another song that few radio stations in California entitled “Irresistible” have got their hands on has been top 5 phone lines since the stations aired it. In recent Billboard Magazine Through the rain is moving up the charts for R&B and hot AC and staying steady on the AC charts. So all prepare for Mariah’s Triumphant return!
