Pink Talks Animal Rights, Sarah Palin On ‘The Hour’
Pink visited ‘The Hour with George Stroumboulopoulos’ the other night, talking with the Canadian talk show host about some of the animal rights letters she’s written in support of PETA, reaching her goals to be famous and piss people off as a little girl, while now looking to inspire others. The decision to include ex-hubby Carey Hart in her ‘So What’ video was “definitely my idea”, Pink said.
Pink also weighed in on John McCain’s vice presidential running mate Sarah Palin, who is noted for her strong backing of aerial hunting and being against abortion, even in the event of rape or incest - two issues strongly opposed by the ‘Dear Mr. President’ singer. Asked if she felt conflicted about voting against a woman as a woman, Pink responded, “Absolutely not. There would be if she were a feminist in some way, and stood for women, in any way.” As for those women who do support Palin, Pink offered, “From what I’m gathering, I’m needing more people to pay attention to the policies, as opposed to the sex or the race. We’re thinking, ‘Oh cool! Someone to come behind Hillary. She’s a woman, let’s be feministic and vote for a woman!’ And that woman is gonna take all your rights away.”
