Frankie Sandford Shares Her The Variety Club Awards Experience

Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays checked in with fans on the girl group’s blog at MySpace on Friday (November 20) after the presented an award for the very first time. The 20-year-old singer writes:

We went to The Variety Club Awards on Sunday night as some of you may know. It was our first awards evening and the first award we have ever been asked to present. I was so nervous because I had the longest part of the speech to deliver. Get me up to sing and dance any day, but public speaking, that’s another story! Ha. I made sure I memorized all my words even though we were assured there would be an auto cue.

Our stylist Robert turned up a few hours before the red carpet with our outfits, so until then we had no idea what we would be wearing! As soon as he pulled my Swarovski covered dress out the bag I knew it was for me! It was so heavy even though it had millions of holes all over it! There was a bit of an underwear situation so a last minute dash to Selfridges was made to get the smallest thong they had and a row of diamantes to sew on to it! There was no way I was going commando!

Mollie King of The Saturdays updated fans on the British girl group’s blog at MySpace on Thursday (November 5) after attending the premiere of ‘The Christmas Carol’ on Wednesday. King writes:

I feel a bit like Carrie Bradshaw writing an article, hehe, I can’t say it’ll have any relationship tips though, dammit! I’m looking back at photos on the internet you guys have posted on the forum!! I cannot believe we actually met Jim Carrey last night!! HOW COOL ARE WE!!! Haha!! He had grown a Santa beard especially for the occasion I think… well he looked very Christmassy let’s put it that way!! I was kind of expecting him to jump into character and start pulling all these funny faces but he played it cool so I thought we’d better too!!

We got to walk down the red carpet at The Christmas Carol premiere last night too which I LOVED doing!!! I always want to scream “Ooo I’m on the red carpet’ but I managed to hold it in!!

Mollie King Blogs About The Saturday’s Wembley Arena Show

Mollie King of The Saturdays checked in with fans on the British girl group’s official site on Tuesday (October 20), talking about their gig at the Girl Guides event on Sunday. King writes:

Oh my goodness I cannot believe we performed at Wembley Arena. It really was like a dream come true. I remember going to watch Britney performing there when I was 12 and just thinking that this was my ultimate goal. I remember I just watched her with my jaw to the ground in disbelief at how huge the arena was and how magical it felt! (Yes that is the Disney side of me coming out, haha!)

We haven’t changed too much! Basically it’s just a step up, a progression. I think we’ve all come on vocally. Frankie Sandford Weighs In On Sugababes Turmoil

BBC Chart Blog caught up with Frankie Sandford of The Saturdays, asking the singer whether the turmoil with girl group rivals Sugababes being in turmoil presents an opening for them.

Um…obviously for us it’s like we are the only girl band around at the moment, so that’s quite cool, but I think the Sugababes are gonna come back bigger and better. They’ve just got so much press about it, like literally we’ve been on the radio tour all week, and all we’ve been asked about is the Sugababes. It’s just gonna be like this massive… like everyone’s gonna be waiting to see that first video.
