Wet Wet Wet played at the luxurious Mar Hall Hotel in Bishopton for a behind-closed-doors gig which marks the long awaited return of the group. Asked how it felt to finally be back, Marti Pellow told Scotland Today: “For me, when we first came together it was very important that we rekindled our friendships before we even started to play music and write any songs and now we’re at the stage that we’ve got some ideas and some songs together… and I want out the band!”

BBC News reports that pop band Wet Wet Wet have decided to re-form after a break of seven years, to tour and release new material. The band sold more than 15 million records between 1987 and 1997, but split after singer Marti Pellow became addicted to heroin. They will release a single and a new greatest hits album before embarking on an 11-date arena tour in December. “The enthusiasm and energy and passion we had when we were 17-year-old boys is still there,” Pellow, 38, said.
