‘A Christmas Cornucopia’ A Labor Of Love For Annie Lennox
Annie Lennox checked in with fans on her blog at MySpace (@annielennox) on Friday (August 27), discussing her upcoming holiday album ‘A Christmas Cornucopia’, out November 22nd via Island/Decca. The Eurythmics singer writes:
The last few days of Summer are shifting towards September… I’ve been working on “A Christmas Cornucopia” since October of last year, so the seasons have all kind of “morphed” together into one glorious…. “Allelujah” for me. ! I don’t want to say too much about it, because November is a little while off, but I will say that this album has been a true labor of love.. Something I’ve wanted to create for years, when the time was right. And the time will be November 2010 ladies and gentlemen!! One thing you may already have gathered is that I tend not to do things by halves. When I commit to doing something I tend to take it all the way. In recording this album, I’ve taken songs.. “carols” that I’ve known since I was about six or seven, and made friends with them again, almost fifty years later…. it sounds like something ancient and contemporary at the same time (spare the clever remarks please!)… give me a few more months, and you’ll see for yourselves… patience!
