‘American Idol’ Tour Hits The Road In October
The ‘American Idol’ tour dates have been announced, which will see the show’s 10 finalists hitting the road for a six-weeks staring October 8th in San Diego before wrapping up November 20th in Seattle. For a complete list of tour stops, read on.

Tamyra Gray On Extra
August 27, 2002 - Extra TV had a video clip on ousted ‘American Idol’ finalist Tamyra Gray who told the show that the most valuable experience she got out of the show was the friendships she forged with the other contestants. They also followed Tamyra to her radio appearance with Simon Cowell, who says he and Tamyra have talked about her bright future. Video has since been removed.
‘American Idol In Las Vegas’ Coming In September
August 27, 2002 - Zap2it.com reports the 30 would-be singers who survived the first two cuts of the show will come together again for ‘American Idol in Las Vegas,’ a two-hour special scheduled to air Monday, September 23rd. MGM Grand hotel on the Las Vegas Strip will be the host location for the special, and will include the winner of the show singing his or her new single, scheduled to hit stores the next day.
What The ‘American Idol’ Finalists Might Be Singing
August 27, 2002 - Entertainment Tonight spoke with ‘American Idol’ judge Paula Abdul who revealed details on what the three finalists will be singing tonight. “I know for Justin, we tossed in a Terence Trent D’Arby song, ‘Sign Your Name,'” Paula said. “Elton John’s ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down on Me’ and a Stevie Wonder song — I’m not sure which one. For Nikki, we did something that would be very suitable for her, like Alannah Myles’ ‘Black Velvet.'”
