Backstreet Prepare For 2004 Releases

Contributed by elgato:

COBSB Mexico was given exclusive information from Jive Records regarding the upcoming releases for the first half of 2004. By the middle of next year, they said to expect:

1. Nick Carter’s new cd
2. A Nick Carter DVD
3. A BSB cd in July

This information is consistent with what the Boys have said themselves, that the group album will come out first before any of the solo albums. That’s why the group will be recording in January instead of later in the year.

Congrats to the fans. I’m still sort of in disbelief that BSB is actually getting back together to release an album. Do you think boy bands still stand a chance nowadays, with so much emphasis on R&B?

It’ll be interesting to see if Backstreet still has “it”. I mean Britney, Christina and Nsync (because of Justin & JC mostly) have all pretty much stayed in the spotlight so the fans they do have have sort of grown with them in a way. BSB have been gone for what seems like years and years. I wonder what they’ll sound like or if they’ll dance like they used to. When the guys from Nsync dance, everyone gets distracted from Joey and Chris being older because of Justin, JC and Lance, but all the Backstreet Boys look older and more mature. I just can’t even imagine what kind of image they’ll come out with for the new album. It should be interesting to see.

Totally awesome! I can’t wait for those! Wonder when Brian, AJ, and Howie’s solo albums are gonna come out?!

BSB will be successful: -unlike Britney, BSB make good music, hence their 12+ Grammy nominations -unlike Justine and Christina, BSB aren’t overexposed. and since the music industry as a whole is suffering, BSB will be embraced and the industry will look to them to create some momentum for the music business and bring something fresh to the table

I’m so glad that they’re album will come out in the summer and not fall/winter like B&B did.

BSB is kind of like the new village people…’, ‘You have the fat one (Nick), you have the ugly religious one (Brian), you have the one with the horrifyingly large eyebrows (Kevin), you have the alcoholic gambler that looks like Prince (AJ) and then you have the incredibly untalented Latino with the long, frightening hair (Howie). While I do think they have talented voices, you have to admit they do look f**ked up sometimes. And if you don’t, you’re in denial.

Depends on how they handle it! I haven’t really seen Backstreet as a BOYBAND in a LONG time! They never had pillowcases, and lunchboxes, and barbie dolls (ken dolls); anything, pretty much, they could get their names and faces on! They’ve always attempted to make it about the music, and ONLY the music! They didn’t like that all of us girls were out there thinking they were “so hot”…. They wanted fans of all ages and both genders to come out and just enjoy the music! Granted, there is always someone pulling strings behind the scenes, and that is why, ehm, they’re in the lawsuit with Jive Records! Do I think there’s a market for boybands…not right now! Do I think there’s a market for vocal groups? Absolutely! Do they have to play their cards right? DUH! Everyone does! Will they have the success they had in 1999? Probably not the hysterical mania, but, like I said, they never really wanted that one! I still know of SO MANY fans in waiting…of all ages, of both genders…. They may not rush out in droves, but they’re still there, patiently waiting.

It’s never fully been about the dancing anyways…. I hope to see them strip that away and get down to the basics and just sing their hearts out…. The guys have dancers to make up for their own selves NOT dancing all that much and focusing on their music!

Its funny how all you 12 year olds think BSB is gonna come back with a bang. Everyone has already forgotten about who they are, plus right now rap and R&B music is hot right now, not boybands who sing about gay stuff and has a member that thinks he’s the sh it because he hangs out with Tommy Lee.
