BSBsweetpea21 from the Mature Fan Club attended the Phoenix Suns Celebrity Basketball Game to watch Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell play. She says, “Brian Littrell is THE most adorable man alive. I’m so glad he came to Phoenix for the celebrity basketball game today. Before the game, they played ‘Larger Than Life’ and he was bobbing his head for the first 30 seconds or so. Then he proceeded to strip practically naked (Ok. Down to a wifebeater.), put his jersey on, and got on the floor to stretch…He noticed some girls on the other side of the arena giggling over him, so he did the Roadrunner/Willy E. Coyote pre-ZOOM pose before go on down the court. When he committed his second foul, this BOOMING announcer voice comes over the PA saying: “Foul on #7, Brian Littrell”. To this he did THE cutest little go-me-its-my-birthday-I-fouled-someone dance.” Read on for more.
Brian Littrell is THE most adorable man alive. I’m so glad he came to Phoenix for the celebrity basketball game today.
Before the game, they played ‘Larger Than Life’ and he was bobbing his head for the first 30 seconds or so. Then he proceeded to strip practically naked (Ok. Down to a wifebeater.), put his jersey on, and got on the floor to stretch. This is when I decided that I needed to go down there to get a better picture. Standing between me and cuteness was this scary, crotchety, old arena-worker guy. *Nobody* was getting past him and into the VIP seating behind the stars. So I got as close as I could and took a picture. I hope hope HOPE that one comes out good.
What else…
He noticed some girls on the other side of the arena giggling over him, so he did the Roadrunner/Willy E. Coyote pre-ZOOM pose before go on down the court. When he committed his second foul, this BOOMING announcer voice comes over the PA saying: “Foul on #7, Brian Littrell”. To this he did THE cutest little go-me-its-my-birthday-I-fouled-someone dance.
He did a lot of kidding around with the refs and conversing with the coach of his team, Tom Chambers. Tom Chambers played for the Phoenix Suns for many, many years. 6’10”. Twice Brian’s size. David and Goliath. I’m not kidding. There was 10-point line in this game. Brian attempted 3 or 4 of these.
The scariest moment was when the Gorilla and the Zoo Crew brought out the trampolines and mats in order to do the Gorilla’s signature fancy-schmancy dunks. The Zoo Crew did a few. Then Donald Fazon(sp?) was the first star to muster the guts to try one, which he successfully completed. I bet you all know who was the second star…yup, Mr. Brian Littrell himself. He got a running start. He was looking good on the approach. And he took a header into the mats. The crowd aww’ed. It was a good try, hehe.
….
One time when Brian was waiting to enter the game, Super Snake (one of the DJs with the radio station that co-sponsored the event and the event MC) quickly interviewed him. Super Snake asked what’s new, and Brian mentioned Baylee. Then Super Snake asked when the Boys were coming back with a new album, and he said this year. Not as specific as the other Boys have been recently, but it works for me!
As Brian was walking back to the locker room after the game, a girl got the guts to lunge at him and try to give him a hug. This started a bit of a stampede toward him. Needless to say, I’ve never seen that man haul his cute little booty that fast, lol. Speaking of his cute little booty…he was shaking what his mama gave him during the pre-game hudle, hehe.
I’m so sad that I missed seeing this. It sounds hilarious! I haven’t seen Brian Littrell around in so long. It was great of him to make an appearance and show his personality!
