Britain’s Queen Honors Kylie Minogue With OBE
After battling back from breast cancer and releasing new music, Kylie Minogue has been awarded an Order of the British Empire (OBE), chosen by Queen Elizabeth II on the advise of the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown. The 39-year-old Australian star thanked her British fans for their love and support during her recent recovery from breast cancer.
“I am almost as surprised as I am honored to be awarded an OBE by Her Majesty The Queen,” Minogue said of the honor. “I feel deeply touched to be acknowledged by the UK, my adopted home, in this way. This last year I have felt so much love and support from everyone as I took greater steps back into the public domain, and it is with absolute gratitude and joy that I say farewell to 2007 and look forward to what the new year will bring.”

Is Kylie Minogue Tired Of Talking About Cancer?
December 1, 2007 - Time Off magazine caught up with Kylie Minogue for a discussion about her tenth album ‘X’, and the fatigue that’s starting to set in regarding those who want to discuss her battle with breast cancer. “I don’t think it will ever completely fade away,” Minogue said. “I don’t want to talk about it all the time, but, I know how important it is to recognize it. For anyone who’s going through that at the moment - you need to know that there’s other people out there that can really sympathize with some of what you might be going through, and that you can come out on the other end. I certainly haven’t boxed it up with a ribbon; it doesn’t get put away and that’s that, and it’s all over and done with - I still deal with it. I wouldn’t be talking to you about this over coffee! I think it’s relevant now because it has had so much to do with this album and the changes in me personally, and how I express those.” Timeoff.com.au has since removed the full article.
