Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine On Britney/Christina
In an interview with Metal-Sludge.com, Megadeth’s Dave Mustaine gave his opinion of Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera saying, ” I think that Britney has blown more things than the gearbox on her Ferrari lately and Christina is living proof that you can polish a turd.”
Beyonce Glad Mariah Doing Better
Beyonce sent her best wishes to Mariah and lamented about the work stars must do nowadays saying, “So many people want so much from you that it’s very hard to find time for yourself. It’s really important to surround yourself with people who love you and tell you when to slow down because it’s so easy to just want to work, work, work.” Beyonce adds, “I’m very happy that Mariah’s doing well.”
Howie: Backstreet Will Remain Boys
Despite some wishing the Backstreet Boys should change their name to Backstreet Men because of their ages, Howie Dorough revealed, “I feel we’re definitely growing. Boys for us will always be in the name of Backstreet Boys, because boys to us is a name for, just friends.”
Howie points out other bands with the name ‘boys’ never changed their monikers saying, “There’s the Beach Boys, the Pet Shop Boys. They never changed their names to the Beach Men or the Pet Men. So we decided to keep it boys.”
Carson Daly Suing Motorola
Carson Daly Thursday filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit accusing Motorola of breaking a promise to renew a contract with the host of Total Request Live because of troubles in the economy.
Daly’s suit says Motorola was “motivated by declining earnings and the effect of the same on its advertising budget, reneged on its agreement.”
Julie Cordua, a spokeswoman for Motorola, denied the claims of the suit saying, “We did not feel that bringing Carson on board would be the right decision for Motorola. A contract between Carson Daly and Motorola did not exist.”
Jamie Foxx Interviewed Ahead Of VMA Hosting Gig
The New York Daily News interviewed Jamie Foxx ahead of his role as MC for the Video Music Awards on Thursday. Foxx will have to be the funny man while acknowledging the grief people are feeling over the tragic death of Aaliyah.

Pop Scarce In This Week’s Top 10, *NSYNC Continues Lower
August 29, 2001 - SoundScan figures for the week show *NSYNC’s Celebrity continue lower as rock and R&B acts litter the top 10, including Maxwell in the #1 position with Now. *NSYNC sold 138,555 albums for the week putting them in the #5 position, down from #3 last week. Jennifer Lopez rounded out the top 10 selling 91,657 records for the week.
Dream Talk To MTV About 2nd Album
Dream apparently is catching the wanting to write and produce bandwagon following the success of the Puffy backed groups first album.
Melissa Schuman tells MTV, “We want to write a lot on this album and produce. We got a taste of that on our last album a little bit, but we’re gonna take advantage of it this time.”
The group says they aren’t finished on their first album’s work though, as they’ll shoot a video for In My Dreams in a few weeks.
BSB Greatest Hits Track Listing Revealed
RollingStone.com reports the Backstreet Boys new greatest hits album, titled Chapter 1, will have a different set of tracks in the various countries it will be released in on October 23rd, though all versions will have the Drowning tune included.
The Drowning song is set for a September 17th release and the US/Canada version of the album will include the following tracks:

Michael Jackson Taps Marlon Brando For Video
After Robert DeNiro turned Michael down to star in his newest video for You Rock My World, Jackson turned to Brando, according to The Sun. The video is said to be more of a short film in the same respects as Thriller was, though an insider says it will be even better…
The insider revealed, “This will be a video like no other - with some of the top names in showbiz. Michael wants to come back with a bang and he knows people will expect a great video. It will also show Michael in a new light and should even blow Thriller away.” Video making delays have set the release of the short film to October 8th instead of the original September 3rd release date.
