Didi Benami was the latest finalist to be voted off ‘’ on Wednesday night after her performance of ‘What Becomes of the Broken Hearted’ failed to impress the judges the prior night. Lacey Brown Discusses The Love Hate Relationship With ‘Idol’ Judges

March 21, 2010 - Lacey Brown reflected on being on ‘American Idol’ finalist after her elimination on Wednesday and what she learned about the experience. “I’ve learned that I’m capable of more things than I thought,” Brown said. “I’ve also learned how to take a critique and kind of change it to make certain things work for me on stage. I don’t think I would have gotten so far without those critiques so the relationship with the judges are kind of like a love hate relationship. You love them because you need them to make you better and you kind of hate them because it hurts a little bit if they give you a bad critique or whatever.” Brown added that she wouldn’t have done anything different and she did everything how she liked to perform.

I think Ryan has the hots for her. She kept trying to pull away. did you see that?

Ryan Seacrest was rude and intrusive. As a viewer, I felt uncomfortable watching him pry for answers as she tried to let go of his hand. Anyone who has been watching since the auditions knows why Didi was emotional. There is no need to put her on the spot like that. She didn’t want a sympathy. Seacrest you’re a rude idiot.

i think it would have put off voters because it was like she was fighting with him and it was obvious to everyone he was only trying to help her get a sympathy vote and to understand why she behaved like that with the usher, it is unusual. Don’t know why he pressed her but guess hes an interviewer used to trying to get answers for whatever reason. it made viewers feel very uncomfortable whereas if shed answered with more of a hint at her well known back story, there wouldn’t have been tension.then she dropped him in it about him wanting it to be about him which was not that great because the crush story is also well out there. so all in all, very uncomfortable and many of his fans may not have voted for them spa-ing at cross purposes. It’s not the story people want. but mostly it was her performance and the continued negativity from the judges that has lost one exceptional, gifted artist her place just before Beatles week too. shame.
