Robbie Williams Laughs Off Womanizing & Gay Rumors
The Advocate chatted with Robbie Williams on his attempt to break America, his huge gay following, and whether his image as a big womanizer is a smoke screen for being gay. On the latter point, Williams laughed, “I think that’s funny. I mean, really, who cares? I know what’s going on in my life. That’s what matters. [The speculation] is absurd, actually. If I shagged as many women, men, and farm animals as people claim in the media, I’d be in the hospital. But it’s fine—speculate as much as you want, I say.”
Kittens Lick Robbie In U.S. Charts
The Sun reports that despite little promotion, Atomic Kitten have sold more than 35,000 copies of their U.S. debut, enough to beat out Robbie Williams who was much more heavily promoted in his bid to crack America. Robbie’s ‘Escapology’ has been out for five weeks but has only sold 31,000 copies.
Robbie Learns The Hard Way In LA
May 2, 2003 - Robbie Williams told The Toronto Sun recently that it took him a while to size up Los Angelenos who had an agenda. “I didn’t have my ‘di**head radar’ fixed when I came to the States,” said Williams. “I got it fixed for Europe and I can normally weed out, ‘Oh, you like me ’cause I’m famous,’ or ‘You like me ’cause I’ve got money’ or ‘You like me ’cause I could probably get you a job,’ in London. But it sort of broke on the flight to L.A. So I got stabbed in the back a few times. It sounds pretty harsh. It wasn’t really stabbed in the back, it was let down.”
