Jean Paul Makhlouf Thrilled After Convincing Fan To Stop Smoking

Jean Paul Makhlouf of Cash Cash checked in with fans on the band’s blog at MySpace (@cashcash) on Sunday (June 14), enjoying the fact that he managed to convince a fan of the group to stop smoking if he gave her a free CD. The singer writes:

Aight so here’s what’s cookin!! I got a MySpace message saying this…

“You probably won’t remember this but at the Manchester date for Cobra Starship’s tour you asked my friend Shannon if she’d stop smoking. She promised you she would and I just thought you should know that she hasn’t smoked a single cigarette since. I know a lot of people who want to thank you for encouraging her like that otherwise she wouldn’t have stopped. Thank you so much, you’ve done us such a huge favor. :)”

When I saw that I was soooooo stoked! I remember giving her a free CD if she promised to stop smoking… and she did!! Hahah I always hate seeing young people get sucked into smoking… I know I told this story before but now’s the perfect time to tell it again haha so last year on the Metro Station tour I ran into these 2 girls that must have been 12 or 13 after the show when we were playing acoustic outside… They came up to me to say hey and they each had cigs in their mouth!!! At first I was like oh these girls just look a little young then they open their mouths to talk and I saw they still had braces!!!! I totally freaked out and was like girls girls!!! You know you don’t really want to be smoking!!!

Jean Paul Makhlouf Picked On Kid Brother Alex Growing Up

Cash Cash siblings Alex and Jean Paul Makhlouf got asked about growing up together: Who was the bad one and who was good. Alex claimed to be the good kid and Jean Paul was the bad kid, always picking on him and taking his toys, while he was a “little angel. Jean Paul admits he was “a little rebel” but Alex’s claims were a over exaggerated.

Cash Cash ‘Party In Your Bedroom’ Hits Radio

Cash Cash

Cash Cash singer Jean Paul Makhlouf checked in with fans on the group’s blog at MySpace (@cashcash) on Tuesday (April 14), talking about their first single hitting radio. Jean Paul writes:

Today is a very special date in Cash Cash history. It’s the official date our first single Party In Your Bedroom becomes available for airplay on radio!!! We’re so excited about it! When we first started this band we never could have imagined hearing our song on the radio. When we heard it for the first time on The Mountain in TN we totally freaked out….Not only did I freak out because it’s our song, I just feel so connected with it in so many ways it’s hard to explain. It’s been like our little baby that we have been nourishing for the past year haha. I feel so lucky and privileged to have been able to mix the song myself in my basement studio!!! That’s something I’m so grateful for and it just makes this moment even more meaningful to me. Anyways, I just wanted to thank everyone for the awesome support you’ve given us..

Cash Cash’s Jean Paul Anxious To Get Back On The Road

Jean Paul Makhlouf of Cash Cash checked in with fans on the New Jersey group’s blog at MySpace (@cashcash) on Sunday (December 28). The singer tells readers:

Word up it’s Pizzle checking in,

So Christmas was awesome! It was good to spend some time with the fam over a nice home cooked meal… It seems we never appreciate them that much until we’re out on tour in the middle of nowhere at 2am eating a half cold sandwich from a truck stop.. haha it’s no match for my mother’s stuffed mushrooms! Anyways, we’ve been practicing a lot lately getting ready for tour, working out all the new songs on the record so we can change it up this time around… Don’t want to keep playin the same set every night! But seriously, just practicing again makes me so anxious to get back out on the road playing shows again!!! It’s gonna be a really fun tour and we’re all counting the days till it starts! Aight I’m gonna keep this one short, gotta go finish the Sopranos season 1 DVD. J Santa brought me the complete box set!! Haha I’ve been veggin out every night watching em!

Cash Cash Debut Album ‘Take It To The Floor’ Out January 20th

Jean Paul Makhlouf of Cash Cash checked in with fans on the group’s blog at MySpace (@cashcash) on Tuesday (December 9) to announce a release date for their debut full-length album ‘Take It To The Floor’, coming out January 20, 2009 via Universal Republic. Jean Paul writes:

So it’s finally finished!!!! I know we’ve been promising this CD for way too long and we always sounded like the boy who cried wolf… But this time it’s for real! We had a bunch of speed bumps along the way with recording it, mixing it, and just finding the time to complete it… We started recording this CD back in January of last year and it’s been a crazy year trying to complete it! We weren’t 100% satisfied with the production and mixes that we were given when we got back from our Valencia tour. So in the little time I had between the Valencia & Metro Station tour, I knew we had to take it back to where it all started… my basement… I basically locked myself in my home studio for 2 weeks so I could tweak production & mix all 12 songs myself… It was super hectic but very rewarding in the end… Now, not only do we have an album that we are extremely proud of, but we have a CD that contains music that we had 100% creative control on.
