Drew Alexander: The Album Is Everything But Done

Drew Alexander checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@drewalexander) on Wednesday (May 14). The Geffen Records artist writes:

I decided to be more open with you. I’ve been accused before of being introverted. But that sucks and I hate it so what do you want to know about? The album is everything but done. We’ve done and redone and reshaped and rerecorded every song (all nine) several times, and right now, the records are in the MIXER’S careful hands. Each level of piano, vocals, drums, bass, guitar is being carefully adjusted by Jack Joseph Puig, a renowned mixer whose albums have sold tens of millions of copies.

Drew Alexander On Why He Signed With Geffen

The Arizona Republic caught up with Drew Alexander of Scottsdale about signing with Geffen Records, revealing that several other labels had expressed interest in him, but he trusted what Geffen music president Ron Fair, a fellow piano player, and the label had to offer. “Ron Fair is notoriously known as a music guy,” Alexander said. “He knows music, yet he’s also very proficient in the business sector of the music industry. The Interscope/Geffen offices have been stable and have been putting out hits. They seem to know what they’re doing down there, and I’m happy to be part of the team, so no regrets.” Alexander’s debut album is due out in the fall.
