Newsday writer Lewis Beale spoke with Hilary Duff in a Q&A about her new movie ‘War, Inc.’, also asking the 20-year-old about the breakup of her parents Susan and Bob and how it has affected her personally and her career. “I don’t think it has affected my career,” Hilary responded. “I knew people would find out about it, because when I was making that album [2007’s ‘Dignity’], it was on my mind. It has changed my life forever, and I wanted my fans to know about it. I was 18 when it happened, and I think growing up in my business, I grew up a little faster. You just never think it will happen to you when you’re that age, when your parents have been together for so long. It was a shock, it’s tough, and it’s still tough every day.” Read more.

The singer/actress spoke with The ShowBuzz about the role. “It was a fun time for me to be able to act completely different than who I am and do something a little wild,” Duff said. As for whether she’s concerned about how parents of her fans will react to the role, Hilary said, “I was when I was filming it, and now I think I’m over it. I have to make myself happy at the end of the day, and I have to do things that challenge me in my work. And that’s not who I am in real life.” Watch the interview below the cut. (more…)

Miley Cyrus Gets A Call From Hilary Duff On ‘MuchOnDemand’
Miley Cyrus of ‘Hannah Montana’ fame dropped by ‘MuchOnDemand’ in Toronto on Friday (December 14) to chat with VJ Leah Miller about the ups and downs of fame. She then got a special phone call from Hilary Duff, who was pretending to be a fan phoning in to ask the 15-year-old a question. After being told it was Hilary, Miley said recently meeting the fellow Disney spawn made her “for once speechless.”
The singer and actress took a call from a familiar sounding girl who asked if she still enjoyed her job. “I still enjoy it. It gets harder and harder with some of the parts that aren’t so fun,” Miley said. “Early mornings and stuff like that gets super hard, but I think the thing that keeps me going is the genuine love for it. That’s what got me started. If I didn’t love it I wouldn’t be here. That’s what my dad taught me too. If you’re not having fun, just don’t do it anymore.”
After Leah identified the caller as Hilary, she said about Miley, “We met not to long ago and I had such a good time. Miley is so talented and so sweet I just called in to say hi.”
Miley said about their time together, “Getting to meet you was seriously like, I never be quiet, and I was speechless. I was so happy. Thank you so much just for everything. I never got a chance to tell you this, but thank you for making it cool to be a good girl and to want to be a good role model. Thank you for making that cool, because that’s something I really look up to you a lot for.”
