Tom Fletcher: Dougie Poynter Is In Rehab
Tom Fletcher of McFly checked in with his Twitter followers (@tommcfly) to reveal that his bandmate Dougie Poynter is in rehab while not specifying what he’s seeking help for. The 23-year-old bassist split up with The Saturdays’ singer Frankie Sandford in November. Tom writes:
Obviously you’re all reading rumors about Dougie. Please don’t worry. We don’t know what the tabloids will say tomorrow but he is in rehab.
He’s just been having a tough time lately and needed a few weeks rest so he’s fighting fit and ready to slap that bass for you on tour. X

But why is he in rehab? Drugs? That would be so terrible!
Of course I would still be a huge fan of McFly and still love Dougie
but I just want to know why. :)
When you check in to rehab because of heartbreak it’s a sign that you’ve got more money than sense
Everyone has to be heartbroken at some point and the majority of people will go through that pain of being finished with by the person you love at least once - you just have to be in pain and with time you get over it
I’m a huge McFly fan and I think Dougie’s great but I think it’s a bit weird that he’s checked in to rehab over this
He’s gone to rehab because he is exhausted… he has gone for rest. it’s because he has been so busy with work that he hasn’t really had time to get over Frankie properly and has gone to sort himself out..they said that he is excited about tour and is getting better
Dougie’s in rehab to get over the split from Frankie because he thought he was going to marry her and have kids with her. And he started to struggle to make it through the day, so he’s checked into the priory I think it is. Look at the daily mirror website and Mr. Paparazzi, it has more info xx
No, not drugs!! He’s been feeling down since his breakup with Frankie from the Saturdays, so he went into rehab to rest and get his head straight for the tour.. (according to other tweets from McFly)
