Will Young Voted All-Time Most Popular British Artist

‘Pop Idol’ season one champ Will Young has been voted the most popular British artist of all time in a poll of radio listeners, beating out Robbie Williams, Sir Paul McCartney, Spice Girls, and more. “What makes it so special is that it’s voted for by the public,” Will said. “I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who took part and made the effort to vote. I’m over the moon.”

Will Young To Concentrate On Acting Career Soon

Will Young On His Favorite ‘Who I Am’ Video Scene

April 14, 2006 - ‘Top Of The Pops’ caught up with Will for a Q&A, and asked the ‘Pop Idol’ season one champ what was his favorite scene to film for the ‘Blue Peter’ themed video to his new single ‘Who I Am’.

“I think the elephant scene at the end, because I just think it looks exactly like I’m there, and it’s just very funny,” he said. “And their reactions are very funny, it’s kind of embarrassed laughter and they’re so repressed, that kind of English person in that age… I don’t know when it was… In the ’70s, I think, they’re just so repressed as people and you can just see it in their body language, and it’s just hysterical.”

Could Will Young’s ‘Who Am I’ Video Prompt Legal Action?

April 11, 2006 - The Daily Star reports that ‘Blue Peter’ presenters Valerie Singleton, Peter Purves and John Noakes were not notified by Will Young, who used footage of their younger selves in the music video to his new single ‘Who Am I’. “It would have been nice if they’d have asked me and the other presenters shown if they could use footage of us,” Singleton said. “Maybe a royalty or two would be nice too.” So now there could be a lawsuit involved.
