Britney Spears Never Claimed To Be An Artist, Only An Entertainer
Neva Chonin of the San Francisco Chronicle reviewed the Britney Spears show at the Arena in Oakland Saturday. Chronin said, “At times she was obviously lip-synching, and her stage patter was as rehearsed as her musical numbers. What does it matter? Spears has never claimed to be an artist, only an entertainer; and her stage show has no more room for improvisation than a Broadway musical.” Read more.

So just because you are an “entertainer” you suddenly don’t have to have any talent? I think it’s hilarious how these new artists try to hide behind this term “entertainer” in order to relieve them of being role models or people with talent. Shameful!!! Brit, you can’t sing or act, therefore you are NOT an entertainer.
I concur…Micheal Jackson, Sammy Davis Junior, Frank Sinatra…they are entertainers, they can sing though…I mean does saying you’re entertainer excuse the fact that you have no talent (In Brits case singing talent, and acting). Does labeling yourself and “entertainer” make everything ok? Well thank god that “entertainers” like Brit, don’t last long in the entertainment OF business…peace
Uhm….Brit DOES have talent…believe me she does, seriously why do people, who don’t even like her waste time writing bad stuff about her!? It’s a waste of your time and mine so just get over it!!! And, uhm, “new artist” Brit’s been around for a LONG TIME…she’s no “new artist”
Well then ENTERTAIN me, baby girl. Cuz you hangin on stripper poles and swinging around that fake hair and watching your lips move faster than the music isn’t very entertaining to me. You could at least make an effort to make your show look realistic. Everybody in Hollywood is an entertainer. You’re just a waste of time… So until you can do what you say you do, sit down.
I know Britney can sing, so what at times she lip syncs she needs to with all the dancing she does during her sets. I remember a long time ago someone did a interview with anther pop singer who said she lip syncs because if she did not the show would have to be cut down because of the work that a person would need to do during a concert and you know what that makes sense its not like Britney didn’t record the music, so give the girl a break already………what else do you people want?
I thought singing was supposed to come before dancing, but in Britney’s case it doesn’t. She can sing, but she chooses to dance opposed to sing. I do not understand that. To each their own, I suppose.
