Kevin Jonas and his wife Danielle Deleasa

E! is giving viewers a look inside the celebrity marriage of Jonas Brothers star Kevin Jonas and New Jersey girl-next-door Danielle Deleasa when the reality series ‘Married to Jonas’ premieres on Sunday (August 19) at 10/9c. The series will give viewers an intimate inside look at the lives of the young newlyweds as they work to find balance between small-town family life and worldwide fame.

“I think it’s time for my father-in-law to take a step back so I can take a step forward,” Kevin says in a preview of the show. Then, during a fashion week visit, Danielle is seen warning Kevin, “You are looking down if any naked models come out.” In a bedroom conversation, Kevin complained, “Everyone told us we were too young to get married. ‘Oh, it’s just because of those purity rings, and you guys wanna have sex.” Danielle responded, “It is true though.”

fun. Perform Live Set, Discuss Band Name, Songwriting & Sound

fun. live on Walmart Rock4G in Brooklyn, New York

fun. performed a concert at the Music Hall of Williamsburg in Brooklyn, New York, available to watch at Walmart Soundcheck. The four-song set from the trio includes ‘Why Am I The One’, ‘Carry On’, ‘We Are Young’, and ‘Barlights’. Plus, group members Nate Ruess, Jack Antonoff and Andrew Dost sat down with Walmart Soundcheck to discuss fans, the importance of playing live, and why they almost called their band ‘Ice Cream’.

On the band name’s origin, Nate said:

We were at a comedy club with a friend, Mike Babliglia, and we sat around the table after his set and tried to come up with some names and someone said Ice Cream. It conjures up a good feeling so Jack said fun, and we were like, ‘Yeah that’s cool. Let’s keep this name’. A few months later another band called fun, a noise rock band, they contacted us and asked if we could do something to change it up, so we added the full stop to the end of it.

On songwriting, Nate said:

When we write songs it usually starts with, I’ll hear a song in my head then I’ll bring it to these guys and sing it and we’ll start to figure it out from there. This album, it’s interesting because it has this high level of production with a lot of the hip hop stuff with a lot more modern sounds. Something that the last album didn’t have as much of… There’s actually a very big live aspect to the album.

On the title track ‘Some Nights’, Nate said:

When I first was figuring out how ‘Some Nights’ was gonna go, we all were in Phoenix for a college show and we made our way into one of their rehearsal rooms. I remember Andrew started playing the Piano and I was singing and Jack was playing the drums. And it was just amazing because the song goes in so many different directions. We all just took that leap of faith for this album, where we all trusted one another with all those different things and there wasn’t any sort of questioning period about why this was happening, it was like we were all so excited to do it and it really started in that room. Some Nights is such a crazy song, and yet we were able to figure it out between the three of us, with a student piano and feet and hands.

On their sound, Jack said:

The sound of the band is whatever the sound of the band is, which sounds annoying but we’ve all been in lots of bands, and when you have less confidence, you want to be the bridge between Green Day and Fugazi or something. The meat and potatoes of the whole project, the set list and the lyrics is the one part that never gets a comparison, it’s just because it’s us. Bringing that concept back to the fans, back when we had a hundred people come to our show, up until having dozens of people come to the shows, I think what connects all of us is the amount of respect we have for our fans. our goal in record making and this band is to sort of create a place for everyone by having it come from the heart. We hope that’s what a lot of the kids outside get from it.

Karmin Discuss ‘Hello’ Debut, When They First Met & Rap

Walmart Risers featuring Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan of Karmin

Pop duo Karmin stop by Walmart Soundcheck Risers for an exclusive interview and performance of songs from their debut album ‘Hello’. Karmin is Boston-based duo Amy Heidemann and Nick Noonan. The real-life couple met while attending Berklee College of Music in Boston. Their debut album is called ‘Hello’. The pair talked about giving their debut album the ‘Hello’ title, the misperception that they were an overnight success, Amy being a wedding singer before this, having a whirlwind year, the story behind their single ‘Brokenhearted’ and incorporating rap into their music.

On their debut album ‘Hello’, Amy said:

We thought it was a great title for an album because we really wanted to introduce ourselves to the entire world after the whirlwind year that we had. They call us YouTube sensations now but the truth is it was the best platform. There’s like a billion people waiting to see cool videos.

On being labeled an overnight success, Amy said:

We’re like, it was like a year and (Nick) was working in a boxing gym. Not boxing but taking phone calls with the buzzer going off every three minutes every round.

On Amy’s prior job:

I was a wedding singer like Adam Sandler on the weekends. It was just a lot of work. It looks like it was easy, which is great, but I remember when we were excited to have 100 views.

On their busy year, Nick said:

The last 12 months have kind of been pretty ridiculous. We signed to Epic Records and just had our first #1, ‘Brokenhearted’, which was #1 on the Billboard dance charts last week.

On ‘Brokenhearted’, Nick said:

‘Brokenhearted’ is kind of based on when we first met. We were in Boston, it was the beginning of our sophomore year. It was at my friends house. We knew of each other but we hadn’t really had a full conversation yet. We ran into each other, we started talking, and we both got along brilliantly, like it was a too good to be true kind of thing. It’s kind of told from Amy’s perspective the next day kind of waiting for me to call.

Amy then interjected:

But you didn’t call, so I was brokenhearted. I mean, it was crazy, because we came from totally different circles. I was like goody two shoes, he was like a party animal. Jazz, trombone guy. We were shocked that we got along. When he didn’t call the next day I was like, hold on, I always get what I want. What’s going on here.

On rap being a big part of the record, Amy said:

We’re very into the urban sound, so there’s a ton of rapping. We actually asked our fans on the internet how much rap do you want on the album, and they said 50%. We were like, are you sure about that? Growing up in a conservative home in Nebraska, I wasn’t allowed to have CD’s with a parental advisory sticker. It was a bit no-no, but somehow I got a copy of Dr. Dre’s ‘Chronic’ 2001 album, and I was like this is amazing, how do I get myself into this lifestyle. Nowadays, there’s a lot of rap on the radio, and when we were doing the Karmin covers on YouTube, it was only natural that we cover Nicki Minaj, and here was Pitbull, and here was Ludacris, and Chris Brown’s ‘Look at Me Now’ came out, we were like let’s do it.
