Christopher Ciccone Discusses His Madonna Tell-All Book
Madonna’s brother Christopher Ciccone penned a tell-all book about the Material Girl, and he spoke with Fox News Channel’s Jill Dobson about the project. “It was a story that had to be told and no one else could tell it,” he said. Chris said his sister has “an incredible ambition and a huge amount of creativity and drive that I’ve never seen before.” The interview video at FoxNews.com has since been removed.

August 20, 2008 - CNN’s Becky Anderson examined Madonna’s staying power as the Material Girl celebrates her 50th birthday. “I think that what’s inspiring about Madonna at the moment is that she’s saying, ‘Well, I’m 50 but I can still be sexual and still look beautiful and I don’t care I get my legs out and I’m not going to wear something age appropriate,” said Lucy O’Brien, an author and journalist whose work focuses on women in music. Madonna Isn’t Attempting To Adopt Mercy James
August 13, 2008 - Madonna’s rep Liz Rosenberg tells UsMagazine.com that a report in The Sun suggesting the singer is set to adopt a second child from Malawi, a three-year-old girl named Mercy James, is untrue. “Madonna has not made an attempt to adopt this baby earlier this year or now,” Rosenberg insisted.
Rosenberg also told CelebTV.com: “There is no truth to this rumor. It’s an old one - wasn’t true then or now. Madonna is starting her tour in a week.”
Madonna Postponing 50th Birthday Bash Over A Sprained Ankle?
August 11, 2008 - The Mirror reports that Madonna has sprained her left ankle and the singer may have to postpone her 50th birthday party a couple weeks because of the injury. “Plans are very hush-hush but Madonna is definitely going to celebrate her milestone in style,” a source said of the party, which is set to take place Saturday at Madonna and husband Guy Ritchie’s country estate in Wiltshire. “Unfortunately not everything has gone as expected as she’s had many other things on her mind - not least rehearsals for her Sticky And Sweet tour. On top of all the stress of this, she twisted her ankle over the weekend. She views this as a sign that perhaps she should postpone the formal birthday bash and play it by ear instead.” Read more.
