Deborah Gibson Defends Posing Nude In Playboy
Deborah Gibson spoke with the Ventura COunty Star about her decision to pose nude for Playboy magazine in 2005, a move which some fans who idolized her squeaky-clean image were not happy with. The pop singer, who currently is starring in the Rodgers and Hammerstein production ‘The King and I’, said she is “amazed by people who can’t see that somebody could be one way when they’re younger, then grow up and change their mind. You can be a role model, and you can take sexy photographs if you want to, in a form that’s appropriate.”
As for those who give her the “pop princess” tag, the 38-year-old said, “I think in this lifetime to make any mark at all is the coolest thing in the world. If they want to label me something that people connect with, that’s great.” Check out the full story at venturacountystar.com.
