Feist Comes To A Complete Stop Before Recording ‘Metals’

spoke with the Seattle Times about her decision to take nearly 4 1/2 years to follow up her 2007 album ‘The Reminder’, which featured the 35-year-old’s most successful single, ‘1234’.

“You know how difficult it is to stop a boulder from rolling down hill,” Feist explained about the delay before recording ‘Metals’, released last month. “I wanted to come to a complete stop and then see if I had enough fuel to get moving again from a natural perspective, rather than just be going on gravity.”
