Gareth Gates Nervous About ‘Practically Naked’ Role As Joseph
Gareth Gates checked in with fans on his blog at MySpace (@garethgates) on Friday (January 16) as his role in the pantomime ‘Cinderella’ comes to an end and before his lead role in ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ begins. The ‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up tells readers:
Well it’s almost over! Only a few more days left of me being Prince Charming. I’ve had loads and loads of fun and have met some wonderful people along the way. I’m actually quite sad it’s all finished. However, I’m really excited to be the next Joseph. Rehearsals start as soon as I’ve finished panto, and VERY excited about opening night (My official opening night is 9th Feb). Hope you’ve all got your tickets! Already had the fitting for the loin cloth, and it fits well, even though I’m actually quite nervous to be onstage practically naked! (I have been in the gym lots though.) Suzanne’s doing fine too, getting bigger and bigger everyday. Thank you all for the support you’ve given me throughout my time at panto. It means a lot. A special thank you to Vera who must of come to the show about 20 times! What was everyone’s favorite moment in the show? Oh and Happy New Year! Lots of love, Gareth x

“I feel really, really fantastic,” the ‘Pop Idol’ season one runner-up said of winning the role. “It’s one of the best days of my life. Ever since a child, I’ve always wanted to play the role, and the first time I was ever one stage and was ever involved in music, I was 8 years old, playing Joseph.”
