Hear’Say Kym Plotted Leaving Band During OK! Deal

A poster on Popbitch.com claiming inside information on the Kym Marsh bolt from Hear’Say is claiming the singer schemed the move when setting up her wedding picture deal with OK! Magazine. Pauline wrote, “Kym Marsh has definitely left Hear’Say and won’t be coming back. She spent December negotiating her OK! wedding deal for -300K, including several screaming phone calls to BBC legal who, in her opinion, were being too slow to clear her boyfriend’s [EastEnders star Jack Ryder] contract. The day after the deal was signed, making sure there was no band-leaving clause, she phoned Rav Singh to say she was leaving, before telling management, band or Polydor. She is convinced she has a successful solo career ahead of her.”

Hear’Say Drama Continues… Announcement Delayed

January 21, 2002 - MTV UK reports a statement outlining the Hear’Say’s future was expected to be released today, January 21, but an announcement has now been put off until the end of the week. The group has been having meetings with manager Chris Herbert to try and talk Kym Marsh into staying with the part of the made-for TV band.

The Sun Says Kym Marsh Official To Leave Hear’Say

January 19, 2002 - Since it’s from the Sun, their use of the word ‘official’ should be taken with a grain of salt, but the UK tabloid reports Kym met the rest of the group and manager Chris Herbert yesterday and told them she would not be returning. Polydor said there will be a statement over the weekend or on Monday to make it official.

Tour Obligations Force Kym To Re-Join Hear’Say

January 16, 2002 - Peoplenews.com reports Kym’s planned exit from UK pop band Hear’Say is on hold due to the band’s committed nine date tour in September. The band would have had to pay out over $5 million to break the tour arrangement so Kym will have to make up with rival Myleene Klass.

Kym Marsh Buys Wedding Dress

January 16, 2002 - The Sun reports Kym, who’s status with Hear’Say is currently in dispute, purchased a wedding gown for around $9,000 for her upcoming wedding with EastEnder Jack Ryder. An insider said that during her stop at the store she was, “constantly on the phone to Jack, calling him ‘darling.'” The tab reports Kym expects to be free of her Hear-Say contract by Friday to pursue a solo career with her own band.
