Jessica Sutta of the Pussycat Dolls shared her thoughts on the California initiative measure Proposition 8, which if passed would change the California Constitution to eliminate the right of same-sex couples to marry in the state. Sutta writes on pcdmusic.com, the group’s official web site:
Equality for all! Vote No on Proposition 8
There’s one particular issue that I would like to talk about and it’s Proposition 8. Proposition 8 is a Constitutional amendment that eliminates the right of same-sex couples to marry within the state. I’m asking for you to vote NO on Proposition 8!!! I usually don’t like to talk about politics but this issue is very important to me. We are moving into a time where it is vitally important that we wake up and allow EVERYONE the same rights. It goes against our constitutional rights and also creates discrimination. We are smarter than that. Everyone can have different views, like or dislike whatever they want but it is IMPORTANT to create EQUAL RIGHTS FOR EVERYONE. A lot of my friends are gay and the thought that they can’t marry the love of their lives because of this stupid amendment makes me so sad that I can’t sit back and allow this to happen because I have a voice and it needs to be heard. We are all children of god and its all about love. Spread the word. Stop discrimination. This is wrong, unethical and unjust.
Love & Equality,
Jess
