Lights On How ‘February Air’ Shaped Her Sound
The latest episode of On Tour with Lights features the Canadian synthpop singer talking about how ‘February Air’ shaped her current sound.
“I was all alone in my hotel and I wrote the song on acoustic guitar,” Lights explained. “I went in the studio the next day, and something in my heart changed and I’m like ‘I’m not going to put anything - I’m so tired of doing the same thing over and over again. I’m gonna put all electronic elements in the song. I’m not putting any acoustic elements.’ Every texture I felt should be in the song I could come up with it. You’re not just limited to the strings on acoustic guitar.”
