Michelle Branch Paves The Way For Female Singer / Songwriters

It sounds like I was the first person in popular music to ever write my own stuff,” she said. “I know that when my first album came out, the only young female artists you heard of were the ones shaking it to songs 40-year-old Swedish guys wrote. It’s nice for me as a music fan alone to know that I helped make it okay again for younger artists to actually be artists.”
