Natalie Bassingthwaighte Explains Decision To Leave Rogue Traders
Natalie Bassingthwaighte spoke with the Sunday Mail about the decision to exit Rogue Traders earlier this year, prompted by a desire to go solo and to have a child. “I signed for this solo album two years ago and it had to happen,” she explained. “So I was, like, ‘Guys, I’m nearly 33 and I really want to have some babies so when is this going to happen?’ But I wanted to give the Rogues their best shot so we did the album and the tour and after that was when it had to be.”
Bassingthwaighte has been working on her debut album with her boyfriend Cameron McGlinchey, who was the Rogue Traders drummer before exiting earlier this year as well. “His advice has really grounded me and taught me things I might not otherwise have taken on board,” Bassingthwaighte said. “It doesn’t matter who thinks what of you, really, but you want your partner to be proud of you. I keep joking to him that I can’t believe I am going out with a drummer. And he says, ‘I can’t believe I am going out with someone from Neighbours’.” Read more.
