No More Pop For Belinda Carlisle

For the first time in 10 years has released a new album. Titled ‘Voila’, it is sung entirely in French, and includes covers of classics by Serge Gainsbourg and Edith Piaf. “I had no desire to make another pop album,” Carlisle, speaking from her home in Provence, France, told the Sydney Morning Herald. “It just wasn’t interesting to me. I had been there and done that. I was in the Go-Go’s and after that made so many solo albums. I decided years ago if I were ever going to record anything else it would have to be something challenging and completely different.”
