Paula Abdul On What Attracted Her To ‘Live To Dance’
January 5, 2011 - ‘The Early Show’ co-anchor Erica Hill spoke with Paula Abdul about her new CBS dancing competition ‘Live to Dance’ on Tuesday (January 4). “It’s a gem of a show, and what drew me in was the UK format, it’s called ‘Got To Dance’ there, was charming,” Abdul said. “When I was taking time off after I left ‘Idol’, I wanted to get back to what drives me with passion and heart, and this show just had my through line of my brand all over it.” Watch the interview below the cut.
Can Paula Abdul’s New Show Take On ‘American Idol’?
November 2, 2010 - Former ‘American Idol’ judge Paula Abdul is launching her new reality dance show against the FOX hit called ‘Live to Dance’. ‘Showbiz Tonight’ co-host Brooke Anderson had ‘Inside Edition’ correspondent Jim Moret on to discuss the news, pointing out a poll the HLN program had showed 51% saying they’d watch Paula’s show compared to 49% for ‘Idol’. “They’re reinventing [‘Idol’],” Abdul said. “It’s up for grabs whether - look, the show is going to do fine. No tears for ‘American Idol’. It’s a juggernaut. But Paula has a legitimate shot now at taking them down a notch or two.” Watch the segment below.
