The Sun reports Sophie Ellis Bextor has accepted a proposal from boyfriend Richard Jones. “It’s great news and they are really happy,” a friend said. “They can’t wait to tell everyone. They haven’t set an exact date but they are looking at next summer. It will be a big ceremony with all their close friends and family invited. Sophie Ellis Bextor Halfway Through With Third Album
November 4, 2004 - Sophie posted an update to fans on her official website forum on Monday providing an update on her upcoming third album. “Hello to all of you,” she writes. “I am so proud of having such an active site. It is really lovely for me to see you all getting so excited about album 3 - as am I. I can’t really be sure as to the sound of this album as the producer element is the last thing chosen, but I can say I am about half way through writing and I am genuinely happy with what I’m up to. This album has got to be fabulous so I’m really trying to be patient and do the best stuff ever. I hope you’ll think it’s worth the wait! In general the songs are a mix of the last two albums plus something new influenced by what else is in my life and what I’ve been listening to. Sorry to be so vague, but it’s always tricky to articulate sound. Anyhow, not too long before you’ll be able to judge for yourself… next year for sure. Happy fireworks, Sx.”

August 5, 2004 - Sophie checked in with fans on her official forum on July 27th. The singer wrote, “Hello to you all. How are those of you in the UK enjoying the heat? I am. Thought I’d drop you a line to let you know I am fine and so is Sonny. He is a darling little boy and I’m having such a fantastic summer getting to know him. That being said, I am starting to songwrite for album three and I’m really rather excited to be getting back into it. I’ve missed you all. I’ve kept my eye on things though…as ever. See you around!”
