The Sunday Times reports that Casey Donovan says she wouldn’t have made it through the first round of ‘Australian Idol’ auditions this year with new judge Kyle Sandilands (of the Kyle and Jackie O. Show) on the show. “The new Idol is good but I just don’t know what is going on with picking all of the hot chicky babes,” Donovan said. As for the comparisons to last year’s runner-up Anthony Callea, who has had more success selling records, the plus-sized singer said, “I am a bit annoyed with it. ‘Australian Idol’ season two champ Casey Donovan was on Lowie’s hot30 Countdown the other night. She denied claims she was being dropped by her record label, or that she was feuding with ‘Idol’ runner-up Anthony Callea. Donovan also revealed she has a boyfriend and admitted to times of having second thoughts about a singing career. The plus-sized singer then took part in a skit with Lowie and Chodoboy. Casey Donovan was the big winner on the second season of ‘Australian Idol’, beating out 21-year-old Anthony Callea in the finale on Sunday night. “I would just like to thank every single person, all the people that have worked on this show, my mum, my stepdad, my family, my friends,” the plus-sized 16-year-old said before about 2000 cheering fans inside the Opera House. “(Anthony) is a great guy … and I can’t thank everybody enough.”
