Is Paula Abdul Eating Fish To Get Pregnant?

Paula Abdul was spotted outside Koi restaurant in West Hollywood, where the ‘American Idol’ judge signed autographs for resellers and was bizarrely asked if she was eating fish because she wanted to get pregnant by an obnoxious paparazzo. Abdul added that the sexiest 21-year-old was Zac Efron, who she got to the ‘Idol’ finale before he was in ‘High School Musical’. Paula says Zac deserves a chance to become the next Tom Cruise of the big screen. Abdul then introduced her dancers. Watch it all via Hollywood.tv below.

Paula Abdul Performing On ‘American Idol’ This Week

Lucy Woodward just posted this interesting bit of news on her Twitter (@lucywoodward):

Singing backup for Paula Abdul on American Idol this Wednesday. Rehearsing now….reeeeeally fun! Will be hot.

Maybe she wasn’t supposed to blab, because even Paula’s Twitter (@PaulaAbdul) only mentions “big news”:

Back in the studio again today. Get ready for an exciting week. Big news to come! Stay tuned….

In the studio with my music producer listening to some tracks… Getting excited about this weeks theme… Rock Week!! Yay :)

Update: Since Daughtry and Slash are performing this week, there’s a thought that Paula will be taping the performance to air in a week or two. That would also give Paula a chance to do the performance in multiple takes, which would probably be wise given her prior pull-outs of scheduled live comeback performances.

Update II: DishofSalt writes on Twitter (@DishofSalt): “finally got Paula. Can’t reveal what we talked about til Wed.”

Paula Abdul Disappointed By ‘Nightline’ Story

Paula Abdul is reacting to being featured on last night’s ‘Nightline’, where the ‘American Idol’ judge denied she’s addicted to alcohol and/or prescription drugs. “I’ve never been addicted to any prescription drugs. I’ve never been drunk. I’ve worked my whole life,” Abdul said, adding that she has never taken addictive painkillers despite undergoing 15 surgeries since her 1992 neck injury. “I will not take those drugs. And you can check my medical records. There is nothing like that. I was never on Oxycontin or Vicodin or anything like that. I was on nerve medicine and anti-inflammatories.”

Despite airing those quotes last night, Abdul doesn’t seem pleased with how Cynthia McFadden portrayed her, writing on her Twitter account (@PaulaAbdul) earlier today:

Disappointed that Cynthia tried SO HARD on Nightline to make it look like I’m on drugs & alcohol. U know it’s not true. THX 4 yr support!

Paula Abdul Backstage At ‘American Idol’

ABC News went backstage with Paula Abdul at ‘American Idol’, where she talked about being unfairly criticized. Abdul said the first season she “quit seven times”, how she’s “not the girl that’s in those tapes” from ‘Hey Paula’, calling it “plotting, scheming, editing” and “that was not accurate documentation of my life.” A preview of the full ‘Nightline’ feature aired this morning on ‘Good Morning America’. The report added that Paula and fellow ‘Idol’ judge Randy Jackson only learned of Kara Dioguardi joining the show as the fourth judge on her way to the first audition. It’s scary and I’ve been through it. Just keep the faith and stay close to your family and remember security knows best.”

Paula Abdul Claims Fourth Judge Diss Wasn’t About Kara DioGuardi

February 26, 2009 - Paula Abdul tells UsMagazine.com that her recent comment that ‘American Idol’ “doesn’t work” with four judges was not a critique of the show’s newest judge Kara DioGuardi. “It is unfortunate that a quote of mine was taken completely out of context today,” Abdul said. “I was actually referring specifically to the use of ‘guest judges’ in seasons past, NOT Kara or this season. I am thrilled to have her by my side each week on American Idol.”

Paula Abdul Talks About ‘Boombox’ With Johnjay And Rich

Paula Abdul was on the phone with Johnjay and Rich of 104.7 KISS FM in Phoenix on Wednesday (January 7) to promote her MTV show ‘RAW’. They talked about how she makes news whenever she does anything, how people want to hear drama, how ‘RAW’ may become an annual event, ‘American Idol’ starting up again, her belief that ‘Nip/Tuck’ has become “very strange” in the last couple seasons, wanting to do a talk show but denying reports that she’s signed on to do one later this year, and Justin Guarini being in ‘Gone Country’.

They then moved on to her new song ‘Boombox’, a cover of a Kylie Minogue release. The DJs had a copy of the song, but Paula didn’t want them to play it yet since it’s not supposed to come out for a couple weeks. They played about 45 seconds of the song, and they were convinced it was a hit. Paula wouldn’t reveal details of its music video, and though they talked about the song and its video for several minutes, Abdul never mentioned it was a Kylie cover, no doubt angering the Australian pop star’s fans.

The interview, and the ‘Boombox’ snippet 11 minutes in, at johnjayandrich.1047kissfm.com has since been removed.

Paula Abdul Talks About ‘RAH!’, New Single ‘Boombox’

Paula Abdul was on the phone with kiwibox.com to talk about her show ‘RAH! Paula Abdul’s Cheerleading Bowl’, premiering on Saturday, January 3rd at 12PM ET/PT on MTV. “I think it’s going to show the MTV audience an inside look at the sport of cheerleading,” Abdul explained. “I think it will dispell a lot of the stuff that people think, but at the same time it’s about having fun.” Abdul says if the 90-minute program is successful, they’ll likely make it a series or an annual event.

As for plans to release a comeback album, Abdul said, “I am in the studio working, and on ‘RAH!’, you’ll hear the debut of my new single. It’s really fun, it’s called ‘Boombox’.” Check out the interview below.

‘Idol’ Producer Says Paula Abdul Is An Integral Part Of The Show

December 16, 2008 - ‘American Idol’ producer Ken Warwick spoke in support of Paula Abdul during a conference call about the show’s upcoming eighth season Monday afternoon with reporters as talk swired she may leave the FOX program. “America loves Paula. She’s an integral part of this program,” Warwick said. “Never have I been faced with anyone saying Paula’s got to go. She’s one of the foundation blocks of this series. She keeps Simon well in control.”

Warwick also echoed the comments of Nigel Lythgoe in saying that he had no idea Paula was so concerned about Paula Goodspeed, who apparently committed suicide outside Abdul’s home, when she auditioned for the show. “If the inference is that I would put someone in there because it would make good television… she certainly didn’t mention it to me,” Warwick said. “She certainly didn’t mention it to anybody with clout.”
