The concert was the prize in a Channel One News cable TV community improvement contest won by Red Mountain’s Reading Is Fundamental program, a reading promotion that involves high school students reading to younger kids and providing books for underprivileged schools. “It’s fantastic to be involved,” Carlton, 24, told Moody after performing. “It’s important for young people to realize they’re very powerful, and that they can make a difference.”
Vanessa Carlton Checks In With Forum Fans

I want to thank the fine folk who still follow the site. I miss seeing you all on the road. I should be out again at the end of February. Did you all roast chestnuts and eats lots of pie the holiday season? I went horseback riding in Arizona. It was serious fun, though I did get thrown a couple of times which ended with a serious case of whiplash. Hope you are all well, and I promise to check in more. Peace, g’night. v.”
