‘American Idol’ Producer(s) Unhappy With Taylor Hicks Win
The Las Vegas Review Journal reports that at least one ‘American Idol’ producer was not happy that Taylor Hicks had won the show, because his off-screen personality rubbed some ‘Idol’ execs the wrong way. Norm Clarke adds that Andrea Bocelli wants to take Katharine McPhee on his upcoming tour, and that perhaps to nobody’s surprise, Clay Aiken wasn’t happy with having to sing alongside Michael Sandecki. May 26, 2006 - The Associated Press reports Mariah Carey’s pal Randy Jackson of ‘American Idol’ fame will be helping her out on the ‘Adventures of Mimi’ tour, which begins in August. “Randy Jackson is my musical director, and he has been for many years, even before ‘American Idol’,” she noted.

May 26, 2006 - Jay Leno joked during his Tonight Show monologue on Thursday night, “You know, Taylor Hicks has a huge following of fans who follow him around, those are called ‘The Soul Patrol’. No, don’t confuse those with people who follow George Michael around. That’s the Highway Patrol. That’s totally different. … But, you know what I think is great about this whole ‘American Idol’ thing?
