TMZ videotaped Avril Lavigne at the newly re-opened Teddy’s at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, where the singer was doing damage control after her previous spitting incidents with the paparazzi. Stopping to sign some photos for the autograph hounds, Lavigne was unusually kind as she made her way into the club. Footage at TMZ.com has since been removed.

September 30, 2006 - Avril posted the following response to reports of her recent run in with paparazzi, where she spit in the face of one and said “fu** you” to the rest. “I’d like to sincerely apologize for my behavior with the paparazzi,” the singer remarked. “It’s trying at best dealing with their insistent intrusions. I meant no offense to my fans, whose relationship I truly value. I have and will always go out of my way for my fans. My behavior was a reaction to the persistent attack from the paparazzi.”
