Avril Lavigne Outshines Michelle Branch And Vanessa Carlton

Anderman says that Avril Lavigne “outshone contemporaries Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton (both of whom seemed like deer caught in the headlights of a massive tour bus) with a pocketful of original, bristling pop tunes.” In the end, Shakira’s “surprisingly warm stage presence” wasn’t enough to keep fans from filing out of the show.

  1. Corey Groves says:

I just wanted to say that Michelle Branch and Vanessa Carlton should be the ones outshining Avril Lavigne because in my personal opinion, I think that they are a lot more talented and their music sounds a lot better than Avril’s music does. Michelle plays the acoustic guitar and Vanessa plays the piano a lot better than Avril can. I have Michelle’s, “Spirit Room” album and, “Hotel Paper” album and I also have Vanessa’s, “Be Not Nobody” album and, “Heroes & Theives” album as well. They have a lot more class than Avril does because they don’t flip the bird and spit on the paparazzi while they are drunk. They can sing a lot better than Avril can and they don’t curse and scream in any of their songs. Avril is a poser who says and thinks that she is a, “Rock chick” and a, “Skater chick” who sings and writes Rock music. All 3 of them are Pop music artists who sings and writes Pop music. Michelle and Vanessa writes better songs and they both deserve to have a lot more fame because they have worked so hard to get where they are at today. End of story.
