Miley Cyrus Wins Big At Teen Choice Awards 2009

Miley Cyrus was on hand for the Teen Choice Awards 2009 at Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday (August 9). Check out pictures from Just Jared. The 16-year-old won six surfboard-trophies at the FOX awards show, two for the ‘Hannah Montana’ TV series, two for ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’, music single for ‘The Climb’ and summer song for ‘Before the Storm’.

Cyrus has been catching heat for “pole dancing” during her ‘Party in the USA’ performance at the awards, drawing comparisons to Britney Spears. That didn’t seem to upset Cyrus, who wrote on her Twitter earlier today:

For all the people calling me the “next Britney” THANK U. I couldn’t ask for a better compliment :)

Miley Cyrus scored big with ten Teen Choice Award nominations, equal to ‘High School Musical’ and ‘Gossip Girl’, and two behind ‘Twilight’. The TCA show airs August 10th on FOX. Check out a full list of nominees at teenchoiceawards.com.

Miley Cyrus Wins Best Song At 2009 MTV Movie Awards

Miley Cyrus attended the 2009 MTV Movie Awards at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California on Sunday (May 31). The 16-year-old took home the Best Song award for ‘The Climb’, featured on the ‘Hannah Montana: The Movie’ soundtrack. Cyrus wrote on her Twitter after the big win:

OMGOSH I am sooooo stoked about my award! Thank youuuuu soooo much! I love you guys! My fans are the best thing in the entire world! <3

Miley Cyrus was joined by her father Billy Ray on the red carpet of the 44th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday (April 5). Check out pictures from Zimbio.

The ‘Hannah Montana’ star performed ‘The Climb’ and told E! correspondent Marc Malkin that after the Disney show wraps up, don’t look for her to sign on to star in another TV series anytime soon. “I love doing ‘Hannah Montana’, but I don’t know if I would want to do another show,” the 16-year-old said.

Miley Cyrus Wins Favorite Female Singer At 2009 Kids’ Choice Awards

Miley Cyrus attended the 22nd Annual Kids’ Choice Awards on Saturday (March 28) in Los Angeles. The ‘Hannah Montana’ star took home the Favorite Female Singer award, getting choked up accepting the honor which she also received in 2008.

“I really thought I was going to lose, so thank you guys,” the teen said during her acceptance speech. Miley then went on her just launched Twitter account to remark: “I will tweet or twit whatever it is as soon as I catch my breath!!! I’m freaking out thankkk you :) I have the best fans in the world!”

Pussycat Dolls To Perform On 22nd Annual Kids Choice Awards

‘Entertainment Tonight’ has just announced that the Pussycat Dolls will perform on the upcoming 22nd annual Kids Choice Awards. The Dolls, who are also presenters during the evening, will sing their hit song ‘Jai Ho (You Are My Destiny)’ on the KCA stage. Fellow presenters include America Ferrera, Miley Cyrus, Sandra Bullock, Shia LaBeouf and more. The show airs on Nickelodeon at 8PM ET/PT on Saturday night (March 28) and is hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Cheryl Cole Excited, Nervous Ahead Of The Brits

Girls Aloud star Cheryl Cole talked with fans on the British girl group’s official web site ahead of Wednesday’s Brit Awards, where Girls Aloud are nominated for British Group and British Single awards. Cole tells readers:

Girls Aloud ‘So Excited’ About Two Brit Award Nominations

Cheryl Cole and Kimberley Walsh attended the launch of the 2009 BRIT awards and while they were there, it was revealed that Girls Aloud were nominated for two of gongs - Best British Group and Best Single. In the Best British Group category, the girls are up against Take That, Elbow and Coldplay. In the Best Single category, their song ‘The Loving Kind’ is up against songs from Adele, Coldplay, Leona Lewis and others. Girls Aloud will also be performing at the February 18th event, which takes place at Earls Court Exhibition Centre in London.
