Final Artist List For ‘What More Can I Give’ Announced

Michael Jackson put out a press release today announcing the lineup on his charity single, ‘What More Can I Give’ after *NSYNC completed their part in the song. On the lineup are as follows: NSYNC, Ricky Martin, Mariah Carey, Carlos Santana, Celine Dion, Tom Petty, Beyonce Knowles of Destiny’s Child, Usher, Julio Iglesias, Reba McEntire, Backstreet Boy Nick Carter, Luther Vandross, Shakira, Brian McKnight, Gloria Estefan, Mya, Aaron Carter, Hanson, Laura Palcini, John Secada, Billy Gilman, Ruben Blades, Anaida, Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men, Alejandro Sandz, Christian Castro, Olga Tanon, Anastascia, Joy Enriquez, Juan Gabriel, Luis Miguel, Thalia, Ziggy Marley, and 3LW. The artists recorded both English and Spanish versions of the song.

Music Insiders Question ‘Invincible’ Success

October 26, 2001 - Jam! Music talked to music insiders ahead of Michael Jackson’s first new recording album release since 1992 and wonder if he can recapture or even attain new demographics. One insider remarked, “He was always a little bit ahead of everybody. Now he is playing catch-up. I don’t know whether a younger demo is going to grasp on to him. I think maybe the older demographic that has been there for him in the past thinks he is such a freak now that, who knows?”

Hits Mag Says ‘Invincible’ Projections At 400k

October 25, 2001 - Early indications to Hits Magazine suggest Michael Jackson’s new album ‘Invincible’ looks set to perhaps sell up to 400,000 copies in its first week out. While the video is getting some airplay, radio stations haven’t given much interest to ‘You Rock My World’. Jackson’s new album will compete with Chapter 1 from the Backstreet Boys, Enrique Iglesias’ new album, ‘Escape’, and a Christmas album from Destiny’s Child entitled, ‘8 Days of Christmas’.
