Greyson Chance Talks ‘Raising Hope’, Online School, Album & Asia
Greyson Chance sat down with ‘Good Day LA’ this week to discuss his guest role as young Jimmy Chance on ‘Raising Hope’, as well as his recent tour in Asia and his dream of appearing on Glee. Watch the interview via MyFoxLA.com below and watch Greyson guest star on tonight’s episode of ‘Raising Hope’ on FOX at 9:30/8:30c.
“I was very skeptical about putting it on YouTube actually,” Greyson said about his cover of ‘Paparazzi’ by Lady Gaga for a school talent show. “Just kind of for the heck of it (I put it up), and then from there it just let to, I got signed to a record label and I released my album.”
On rumors of a ‘Glee’ appearance, he said, “Hopefully, please spread them. I would love to be on ‘Glee’ and it’s the same network as FOX. That would definitely be something I’d like to do. I’m a huge fan of the show.”
Talking about his online education, Greyson said, “I can do it on my BlackBerry and my computer. They check up on me. I actually have to finish here in two weeks and I’m very scared because I’m a little bit behind. I’ve been procrastinating just a tad bit, but now it’s two weeks and I’m like, ‘I have to go, I have to go!'”
Discussing his role models, he said, “Musically I’m really inspired by a lot of different people. I’m really inspired actually by Steve Perry from Journey. I’m a huge Journey fan and I just really like him a lot and everything that he’s done in the music industry. I love Gaga of course too. I love Coldplay.”
Mentioning his popularity in Asia, Greyson said, “Actually, to be very honest with you, the ‘Paparazzi’ thing is not really that big. It really didn’t catch on there. It was the album, which is really quite weird because everyone in the U.S. knows me for the ‘Paparazzi’ but also for the album.”
Greyson’s new video for ‘Hold On Til The Night’, the title track from his recent debut album, will premiere this Friday on ‘The Ellen DeGeneres Show’.
