If Clay Aiken Knew Then What He Knows Now
Clay Aiken spoke with Hollywood Outbreak about how he can now relate to the saying “If I knew then what I know now” in his career post ‘American Idol’. “I always thought that’s the stupidest thing I ever heard. I don’t think they know what they’re talking about. Now I feel like that, I really do. I think to myself if even seven years difference. If I knew coming off of ‘Idol’ or if I knew putting my first album out what I know today, oh things would be quite different.” Listen to the comments at hollywoodoutbreak.com.
Thanks for the link to the article. Information about Clay is always nice to find.
WOW! Clay Aiken looks hot! I always loved him on American Idol. He has a fantastic voice!
:) I’ll bet there would definitely be some things that he would do differently as respects his label and his recording career. Thanks for the link to the audio.
If he had done things differently, could he have been any more fantastic than he already is?
I don’t know much about the music business, all I know is that I LOVE Clay Aiken and his music.
Keep on singing, Clay, you’re one of the best!!
If he knew then how horrible the Idol recording contract was going to be I think he would have passed on it.
That’s a fairly generic comment that we’d all make. After what he’s had to deal with, I sympathize with Clay. Media and industry have seldom given him a break. I’m certain he’s learned a lot and is happy to be with Decca now.
“If I knew then what I know now” is the truth. So is the phrase “Hindsight is 20/20”. I wonder what were the things he learned that he wishes he knew then?
Saw a recent interview and Clay said his new CD Tried & True is the one he always wanted to do but took 7 years to accomplish. It’s a great piece of work and am sure he learned a lot in 7 years to make it happen. Love him!
Good point Clay! So glad you ditched RCA and are with Decca now.
You know, I’m sure a lot of his fans are thinking the same thing. It’s been a learning process for all of us and some of it ain’t been pretty. But I give him credit for everything he’s accomplished. And he’s got a killer voice. Thanks for these articles.
If he’s referring to the type of songs that he would have recorded, I would have loved whatever he sang. Clay Aiken can sing anything. Just keep bringing it, Clay!
Interesting. I think we all would do things differently if we could go back. Clay has been gifted with a beautiful voice and I’m glad he is STILL around so I can hear that voice. Hang in there Clay!
Agree with poster above. Clay has morphed very nicely into a ‘man.’ Clay you are looking good. See you and Ruben on the tour this summer. Love you both.
Hard to believe it’s been 7 yrs. since Idol. I’m sure Clay has learned a lot about the entertainment business, I’m sure but his voice is better than ever! His new CD Tried and True is so very good — his voice, the music, the arrangements make them make thees classics so fresh and feel new. Thanks for the link to the article.
It has been a wonderful seven years being a fan of Clay Aiken, I hope for many more years.
Clay, I can sure agree with you there! But I’m so glad you survived the RCA years and are free now to take what you learned and run with it. Love Tried & True and can’t wait to see you in Asheville.
I’m sure we’d all do things differently, if we knew back then, what we know now….. But that is how we learn, as Clay says.
The past 7 years have been the best. I have loved this adventure with Clay and wouldn’t change it for anything. He’s a good man, with a fantastic voice, and the best entertainer I’ve ever seen.
I have loved all of Clay Aiken’s CDs, but “Tried and True” really is his best. He has done very well for himself-Clay is a smart and talented man. I wish him all the best and look forward to seeing him (and Ruben) on tour this summer.
Thanks for the article and for the link! I just want him to keep singing and being the entertainer that he is. He sure did a wonderful job on his last CD - Tried and True.
Over the years Clay has not been able to escape media and gossip pressure-he seems hounded on more than any other idol and some of his own fans think they need to know all of his personal life. He’s a great guy to know and was quite naive coming off idol. I’m sure he didn’t know then how many vultures are out there or how RCA would control his career right down to song choice. Good luck to Clay, can’t wait for his PBS special coming up all over the country starting in August. The new CD is his best ever.
PLEASE buy Clay’s new CD. It isn’t selling well at all!!!
all I know Is what ever Clay does I will follow
Great voice great heart, very very funny unpredictable man that always give you an element of wonder
Love his new CD Tried and True ,If you have not heard it yet, Go Get it, it is worth your money
I have been a fan since his audition from A.I. & never wavered, I always believe in Clay, he is the epitome of a true man I love, love, T&T, listening to all these songs is like hearing them for the 1st. time! Good luck Clay & all the best always. I am going to see you & Rube in Windsor!!
Clay is one of the best singers in the world. His new CD is fantastic!
Over the years, we come to know that Clay has a brilliant mind. If he knew seven years ago what he knows now … look out world!
Clay has brought us beautiful music in Tried & True.
Thanks Clay.
Thanks for the article on Clay Aiken.
Love the direction he is going with his new CD Tried And True.
