Madonna Has Tough Time Lecturing ‘Lost’ Britney Spears
People magazine reports that when Madonna and Britney Spears met up for the NRJ Music Awards in Cannes, France last week, the Material Girl gave Britney a sisterly but stern lecture about her behavior, including her quickie marriage and how to take better care of herself. “The lights on but no one’s home,” said a source who was there. “[Britney is] such a sweet thing but so lost.” It wasn’t the first time Madonna gave frank advice to Britney. At their MTV Video Music Awards rehearsal, Madonna warned Britney about her smoking habit. “I like the way it makes my voice sound,” said Spears. “Do you think you’ll like cancer?” Madonna replied.
Madonna Eyed For Matt LeBlanc’s ‘Friends’ Spin-Off
January 23, 2004 - Sky News reports that Madonna has been offered to star with Matt LeBlanc in his new ‘Friends’ spin-off show following a flop audition by former Spice Girl Geri Halliwell. “We were impressed with Madonna’s turn in ‘Will & Grace’,” said a source at Warner Bros. “She is ideal for us as an actress and is a big name too.” A secret meeting between Matt and the Material Girl is set for next week.
Madonna Rep Responds To Simon Cowell’s ‘Housewife’ Remark
January 21, 2004 - Madonna’s spokeswoman, Liz Rosenberg, reacted to news reports that ‘American Idol’ judge Simon Cowell had referred to the the Material Girl as someone who “used to be good looking”, but now is “a housewife.” Rosenberg told Jeannette Walls of MSNBC.com: “I’ll have to quote from a philosopher whose name I don’t know, ‘You should only hate people you love. The rest of them are not worth the energy’. Frankly, I think Madonna is the sexiest housewife I’ve ever seen.”

January 18, 2004 - The Chicago Sun-Times hears that Madonna is taking husband Guy Ritchie and daughter, Lourdes, on a trekking trip to Rajasthan, India. The family isn’t roughing it though, instead staying in enormous luxury tents, the size of a Swiss chalet, complete with pristine loos and chefs.
