Kina Grannis Talks Music, Sings ‘Oh Father’
Before kicking off her tour behind her latest album ‘Elements’, singer songwriter Kina Grannis visited the AllMusic studios to perform a solo acoustic version of her song ‘Oh Father’. In addition, Grannis also offered some insight about how she finds meaning in songs and why ambitions are meant to be pursued. Kina’s tour kicked off tonight in North Carolina.
“For me, growing up, music was so important for me,” Kina explained. “It was such a big part of my life. You always wonder what exactly it meant to the artist, but more importantly it’s what it meant to you and the story you built around it and fit it to your life. For my music, that’s what is really important to me. I want everyone to find meaning for themselves. For the video, it’s the same thing. I think that’s the cool thing about art. It means something to one person, but it could mean something else to everyone else and still be helpful and meaningful for them.”
