PETA Targets Jennifer Lopez With New Website

PETA has launched a new website specifically targetted at . The JLoDown.com website states: “Through the years, Lopez has worn the skin of just about every animal imaginable, from foxes, who are bludgeoned to death and often skinned alive, to small, gentle chinchillas, who are killed by electrocution or have their delicate necks snapped and 100 of whose skins are required to make just one coat. As if wearing hundreds of dead animals weren’t enough, in her first catwalk collection for her clothing line, Sweetface, Lopez proved that she is anything but sweet when she featured grisly garments made of white fox and mink. Lopez may try to market this line as “high end” and all about the ‘bling’, but there is nothing upscale or elegant about how the original owners of these coats met their gruesome deaths.”

Wow, that site brought me to tears. The killings of all these animals is soo senseless and unnecessary. I’ve never worn fur, and never plan to. Because I’ve always known what kind of pain these animals have to endure to make em’. But I wouldn’t look down on Jennifer for wearing fur, she, like most people in Hollywood and in society in general just aren’t informed. And people don’t give PETA a fighting chance because they have such a bad rap, completely on their part.

  2. RobScott says:

I think people are soooo hypocritical when it comes to wearing fur. My God, don’t kill animals for fashion, but by all means, please slice and dice them up so that us Americans can eat them and get even fatter.

But they ARE informed. trust me. when the annoying jerks at peta see a famous celebrity wearing fur, especially as much as Jennifer does, they spam them with video tapes and DVDs. I’m sure she just chose to ignore them. if she really doesn’t know what happens behind the scenes, it because she’s ignorant. as is everybody on here who just said Jennifer is a god and deserves to wear fur. if god wanted her holier than thou, he would’ve made her been born hairy like he did to screamer. I dare them all to watch a video of the death, and if they can still say that, then more power to them. they need it, because they’re heartless bastards. ignorance is bliss. I know. look at me about Hilary and her boyfriend! which she doesn’t have one, but the point is, pull your head out of your asses people. go listen to goldfinger!

Go bash someone else? Yeah, you’re so right! We should go to a Britney thread and bash her for important stuff like lip-synching! Never mind that JLo doesn’t give a damn that hundreds of animals are tortured and die slow, agonizing deaths so she can look stylish! You’re ignorant for having the audacity to say that that’s ok because she “looks excellent in fur”

Wow, it’s amazing how many ignorant, cruel a-holes are on this site. How can you read about stuff like that and have the nerve to say that’s ok? “Oh, JLo’s supporting fur farms that skin animals alive and leave them to rot for the sake of fashion? I better pull some PETA/hippy jokes out of my ass…that’ll be funny!” You guys make me sick. And to whoever said that it’s hypocritical to say fur is wrong when animals are killed “so Americans can get ever fatter”, first of all, screw you, way to sound completely devoid of intelligence by using this to take a shot at Americans when obviously we’re not the only country that wears fur and eats meat, and second, you’re so right, there’s NO difference between killing animals for food and killing them just so rich people can walk around looking like disgusting pigs. I honestly don’t know how people can go through life being so cretinous as to not even care that this is going on.

  5. JLOVER101 says:

Screw Peta. They’re nothing but a bunch of self-righteous a-holes that insist that fur is evil, yet they don’t seem to care to throw red paint on my brand new chinchilla while wearing leather shoes. Hypocritical jerks.

most of you are so ignorant and stupid. you don’t even know what you are talking about when it comes to peta. yeah, peta has been radical a few times in their attempts to help animals but, not all of them are the same. there are millions of peta members from all over the world, and most of them are just trying to help out animals, there’s nothing wrong with that. also, most peta members are VEGETARIAN, or vegan. yeah, that’s right, they don’t eat meat. if you go to peta.com, they have a whole section on being vegetarian and vegan, they even offer recipes, and a “free starter kit” for anyone interesting in becoming vegetarian. they are also against leather for anyone who thinks that they like to “throw red paint on fur coats while wearing their leather shoes.” peta mainly focuses on things that has anything to do with animals being treated badly, that’s why they are against fur, the way these animals are killed is just horrendous, and completely unnecessary. the fact that these animals are forced into such pain just so someone, like j.lo, can feel posh and rich for wearing their fur is just disgusting. go ahead and support fur, the most hideous industry I can think of but, don’t take it out on peta and make up stuff about them especially if you don’t even know what you are talking about. you may not like their tactics but, you have to admit that its for a good cause and its out of the respect that they have for other living creatures, not out of hatred for the human race, that they do this. if they have to target J.Lo for not only wearing the fur of tortured animals but, also selling it, then so be it. hopefully they can change her mind about it by letting her know about how these animals are killed their pelts. its a terrible thing for someone to be protested for their fashion choices but, the way she animals are skinned alive (that would be described a “torture death” by the way) is even more terrible and should be stopped. peta has been successful with many of their campaigns, and has not only stopped companies from testing on animals but, have also gotten fashion designers, clothing stores, and clothing catalogs to stop selling fur. I hope they find success this time, as well.

I think PETA should learn to just inform people about the cruel treatment that animals go through to be on somebody’s plate or to be on somebody’s back, instead of making a bad rep on themselves. So many celebrities out there are wearing fur, and they aren’t complaining about it to the world. I am a veggie, and I advocate animal rights, but I don’t go to this extremes to make my point. It just makes their peace cause even more contradictory.

I am a vegetarian and I am all for advocating animal rights and such. And you’re right, I think too many people are making up huge notions about PETA when most people don’t know a single thing about them, except for the fact that they’re radical. There’s nothing wrong with advocating something and being a bit fanatical about it. BUT, I think some people in PETA should learn how to be ethical in what they do for their cause. By being this radical it does give them a bad rep, and as you can see it stereotypes every single person who is in PETA as people who throw paint at people, which is definitely not true! I don’t think they will find much success in making people listen and be informed if they’re going to be all fanatical over one person for doing something that so many people all over the nation is doing. I just think they can find a much better way to make their point without bringing a bad rep on themselves and on those people out there who are just trying to be kind to animals.

Well if fur is bad then, what about leather.’, ‘I’m a carnivore just like the rest of you. So I find it a bit hard to completely jump onto the PETA ban wagon. Even though I don’t where fur, I do wear leather. Leather comes from cows. Man has been wearing leather & fur for years as well as eating animal meats. It’s not a surprise that we have to kill other living being to feed ourselves. Most likely there are more carnivore then there are vegetarians. Personally I believe until we are all vegetarians and wear synthetic material we can not go around bashing famous people. Trust me, no one is perfect.

She is disguting! Always has been always will be. Obviously the bronx girl has inferiority issues, the only reason why she wears fur is because for some sick reason it makes her feel upscale. You can take the girl out of the bronx but not the bronx out of the girl.
