‘The X Factor’ bosses in the UK have a star in mind to fill the void left by Cheryl Cole as the Girls Aloud star appears to be taking her talents to the U.S. News of the World reports that Alesha Dixon of Mis-Teeq is being eyed for the role. “The obvious advantage of Alesha is that she’s young, sexy and confident and already has experience on a judging panel,” a source said, referring to Dixon’s stint on ‘Strictly Come Dancing’.

Alesha Dixon Joins ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ Judging Panel

Alesha Dixon has been announced as a new judge on the BBC reality dance competition she won, ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. Because of that, the former Mis-Teeq star had to reschedule some concert dates. Her MySpace (@aleshamusic) states:

We’re delighted to announce that Alesha Dixon has been asked by the BBC to be part of the Strictly Come Dancing Judging panel in the autumn.

She will be appearing live on BBC1 for 16 weeks every Saturday night! Unfortunately, this means Alesha will have to reschedule three of her autumn tour dates in Lincoln, Southampton and Brighton due to her commitments to the show.

Strictly Come Dancing is very close to Alesha’s heart after winning the show in 2007 and hopes that her amazing fans understand that this is an unmissable opportunity.

Alesha says “I’m so sorry to all my fans for having to change some of my dates. I’m really looking forward to playing live. I can’t wait for the tour to start as I have been working so hard for a long time to achieve my dream of my first solo tour. I hope everyone can understand due to the emotional connection I have with the show, it was an exciting opportunity I could not turn down.”

Alesha Dixon Discusses Tennis And Touring On ‘GMTV’

Alesha Dixon dropped by ‘GMTV’ to talk about why she’s warming up for Wimbledon, getting lessons from Tim Henman. The former Mis-Teeq member is fronting a campaign to encourage families to hit the tennis courts this summer before a UK tour that comes to Liverpool in October.

Dixon also talked about preparations for her tour this summer. “We just can’t wait to hit the road. We’ve done a couple of our own solo shows recently, and that is the biggest rush and it’s the icing on the cake and why I do what I do,” Dixon said.

Alesha Dixon is featured in a new commercial inviting French fans to listen to NRJ for a chance to attend the former Mis-Teeq star’s private concert at the Pink Paradise in Paris. The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ champ will be selecting someone to dance with her during the show, and is offering dancing tips online at nrj.fr.

“If you think you’re good enough to dance like me then rendezvous on NRJ to win tickets to my private concert,” Dixon says.
