Brian Littrell Doesn’t Want To Release Solo Album On Jive

A writer for Tennessean.com spotted Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell at The Palm on September 4th. Brian was there having lunch with Terry Hemmings, President and CEO of Provident Music Group. Apparently Brian is looking to put his solo album out on a Christian label and not on Jive Records, the label his group has had trouble with. Jordan Kellar, Brian’s lawyer, said, “He grew up singing in churches, at weddings and funerals. This is where his true musical love is. Brian always has expressed a spirituality in Backstreet Boys’ album liner notes and through other venues, so this will be no surprise to many fans.” Provident Music Group houses artists like Michael W. Smith, Jars of Clay, Third Day, and Joy Williams. A few months ago, MTV News reported that some of the artists appearing on Brian’s Gospel album were R&B singer Monica and Provident’s own Michael W. Smith.

Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell and his wife Leighanne were kind enough to sit down with two fans they met at the 2003 Heroes Awards in Atlanta. Brian pulled up in a Hummer and the girls greeted him. They also got to meet Leighanne and play with the Littrell’s newborn, Baylee. Later at Starbucks, Brian and Leighanne filled out a little questionnaire of FAQ’s that the fans drew up. Leighanne informed them that she’s lost the weight she gained during the pregnancy by working out a lot, she has a tattoo (too low to show them), and that she became interest in acting while in high school. Brian said that he would never die his hair brown again, there may be collaborations on his solo album, and that official pictures of Baylee would be available to fans very soon.

Backstreet Boys star Brian Littrell, along with wife Leighanne and son Bailey, called into the Atlanta radio station Star 94 FM this morning. Brian told the DJs that, as we all know, BSB is on hiatus this year and that he and Leighanne will be hosting the Atlanta Grammy’s ‘Heroes Awards’ on June 5th. He talked about fatherhood and joked that he used to burp Nick Carter and now he burps Bailey. The DJs then invited Brian to attend the station’s ‘On The Bricks’ concert series this summer. Brian expressed interest.
