Jason Derulo is out with the Syndrome-directed video for his next single ‘Cheyenne’, inspired by the king of pop Michael Jackson. Produced by Ian Kirkpatrick and The Monsters & The Strangers, the 80’s-inspired track finds the Miami-native musing over a female vice. The ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ told ‘Good Morning America’ about the inspiration behind the visual: “I wanted to take it back to when music videos had a huge concept and a huge dance break. The video is kind of like The Haunting, Cheyenne is haunting my mind and she haunts me within the video.” ‘Cheyenne’ is off Derulo’s fourth studio album ‘Everything Is 4’, out now on Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Is Jason Derulo’s ‘Marry Me’ A Precursor To Jordin Sparks Engagement?
Jason Derulo is out with a stream for his second single ‘Marry Me’, which the singer spoke with HipHollywood.com about and whether the track is a suggestion that he could be headed towards an engagement. “When the time is right, absolutely. It’s all about timing,” Derulo said. “‘Marry Me’ is a very pull-on-your-heart-strings type of record. Very different from ‘The Other Side’ and ‘Talk Dirty’. It’s talking about getting ready for that moment.”
A video featuring girlfriend Jordin Sparks will be shot this week in New York and will debut in advance of his ‘Tattoos’ album, available September 24th.
Neck Injury Forces Jason Derulo To Cancel ‘Future History’ Tour
Jason Derulo suffered an injury to his neck on Tuesday, January 3rd, and has been forced to cancel all touring and promotional activities. The 22-year-old Miami native injured himself while training for his upcoming World Tour in support of his current album ‘Future History’, which was scheduled to commence in Glasgow, Scotland on February 23rd.
While executing an acrobatic move, Derulo landed directly on his head, and suffered an acute fracture to his vertebra. After being rushed to Memorial West Hospital in Miami’s Pembroke Pines, Florida, Jason was told by doctors that the accident could have left him paralyzed. Derulo has been released from the hospital but must wear a neck brace for the next few months. Anyone holding tickets for upcoming shows will be refunded at point of purchase.
Jason stated:
To all my fans who planned to come to the Future History World tour, the pain of letting you down cuts me way deeper than this injury I’ve sustained. My fans mean everything to me, so I’m praying for a speedy recovery in order to perform for you in the near future.
‘Future History’ Is Jason Derulo’s “Greatest Accomplishment”
Jason Derulo released his sophomore album ‘Future History’ last month and the 22-year-old tells MTV News that he “let it all hang out” on the follow-up to his self-titled 2010 debut. “‘Future History’ is the greatest accomplishment in my life,” Jason said. “I’ve been working on it for the past six months now. It is something that is very special to me. It’s an open book on my life. I wasn’t afraid to say anything: I just let it all hang out, and I told a story.” Watch his remarks below.

Jason Derulo is out with the music video to his new single ‘It Girl’, off the Miami, Florida pop artist’s second studio album ‘Future History’, out September 27th via Beluga Heights / Warner Bros. The video features a cameo from ‘Gossip Girl’ actress Tika Sumpter.
“I wanted to put myself in a position as if I’d found my it girl, to make myself feel like if I found that one true love,” Jason told the Daily Telegraph about the track. “I’ve basically described what it would be like if I found her.”

Jason Derulo Releasing ‘It Girl’ To Radio On Wednesday
Multi-platinum singer and songwriter Jason Derulo will release a new single entitled ‘It Girl’ to radio on Wednesday (August 3) and to all digital service providers on August 9th. The track is the second single from the Miami-born artist’s upcoming new album ‘Future History’, which will be released by Beluga Heights/Warner Bros. Records on September 27th. The 21-year-old recently shot a video for ‘It Girl’, directed by Colin Tilley. The video features actress Tika Sumpter of ‘Gossip Girl’.
