Mel B Says Label Didn’t Drop Her
November 13, 2001 - Radio 1 reports Scary Spice girl Mel B is insisting that she wasn’t dropped by Virgin Records but instead she quit in order to spend more time with her daughter Phoenix Chi. Mel and Virgin Records announced the split in July after her debut LP ‘Hot’ flopped. Virgin wouldn’t comment on the Spice Girl’s claim.

October 6, 2001 - 2dayuk reports Spice Girl Mel B is quitting pop music for a year to concentrate on her TV career. Mel revealed, “I will not be recording any music here because I’m not going to do anything music-wise for a year because I’m concentrating on TV.”
