Olly Murs Honored By Brit Award Nomination

Olly Murs from ‘The X Factor’ spoke with London’s Absolute Radio at the Brit Awards nominations 2011, where he received a gong for Best British Single. “To be nominated for a Brit Award is incredible,” Olly said. “It’s kind of a reward really to get nominated at such a massive event like this.”

Olly Murs Defends Cheryl Cole Over Gamu Nhengu Decision

Former X Factor contestant Olly Murs has defended Cheryl Cole’s decision not to put Gamu Nhengu through and asks people to stop being mean.

“She’s lovely. She’s great, Cheryl. I think she’s made a great decision and I think the show goes out to 20 million viewers or whatever it is and I think of course people get really passionate about the show, a lot of them feel Gamu should have got through, but there’s no need to send death threats or whatever I’ve heard.”

JLS React To Olly Murs Signing With Epic

JLS think Olly Murs is destined for success after signing with Epic. “Olly was someone I kept in contact from when we was on the show,” Marvin Humes told ITN. “We met all the contestants on the show. All through the final weeks I was rooting for him and he came second. We always said he would be an absolute find and it’s great that he’s been signed to Epic and obviously [Simon Cowell’s label] Syco as well. He’s gonna do fine. He’s with a great team and I’m sure he’s really, really excited.”

January 5, 2010 - Though Robbie Williams performed with Olly Murs on ‘The X Factor’ and promised to take the singer under his wings, Olly tells The Sun that the former Take That star hasn’t returned his messages. “I’m a bit disappointed Robbie hasn’t been in touch,” Olly admitted. “I texted him to say Happy New Year and congratulations on getting engaged but heard nothing back.”
